My second grader didn’t get in. I applied because the parents seemed obsessed with it so I figured why not try. He’s a bright kid and finds work easy. Im really curious what he will miss out on. Anyone know? Especially if you had one kid in aap and one not to compare. Is the work that advanced? I kind of don’t get it especially if the kids are supposed to ‘even out’ by high school as the principal said. So how can it be that advanced? |
There's a big step up from 2nd to 3th grade (and another to 4th grade) in work and expectations. School will be more school-like and less easy.
This is for everyone, not just for AAP. |
Curriculum is the same, except in math, where level iv is ahead. Expectations are not the same. Teachers will expect much better work in aap. |
