If it’s a spectrum, what would you call this?

I identify as a straight female. I’m married and enjoy a healthy sex life with my DH. But I’ve always been sexually attracted to women in a different way. I definitely have a “type” and can appreciate a beautiful woman who fits into that category and feel stimulated just by looking at her. I’ve fantasized about women when I’m “alone”. In college I made out with a girl once and found it a lot of fun. But anything waist down is a total turn off for me—I couldn’t be less into it, it does nothing for me. So because of this I’ve never felt bi, but like I said, I’m stimulated by women. So what is this?

Heteroromantic bisexual. You are romantic only with men but attracted to women and men. Unless you’ve had crushes on women in which case you’re just bi. Think about it like this, you might see someone and be really turned on but that doesn’t mean you have a crush on them or want a relationship with them.

I could have written this! I feel the same way. Although I have never made out with a woman and really, really want to. In the past few years (I’m in my late 30s) I’ve noticed I have a “type” of woman I’m attracted to. It all started with a crazy overwhelming, take your breath away- crush on a colleague.
