Infant Daycare - Bethesda (20816 area)

Anonymous
My wife and I are expecting in December and I wanted to get a start on infant daycares.

We have friends that use Goddard and enjoy it, but it is so hard finding good info. I thought I would ask DCUM land what they believe to be the top 3-4 options within a 10-15 min drive (downtown Bethesda, Tenley, Friendship, etc).

Is $2k - $2.5k/mo reasonable for 5 days a week?

I haven't personally used them but have heard great things about Children in the Shoe and Wonders.

Use https://www.checkccmd.org/ to look up any licensed daycare' inspection history

Highly recommend BCDC in Tenleytown. They are really fantastic and convenient commute from 20816

This is interesting. I love that they offer a parent workspace if needed.

Thank you for sharing.

I think 5 day a week infant care is going to be more like $2500-$2800 in the area you are targeting. Two Birds is $2550 ish and BCDC is $2700 ish.

Some providers have prices listed on Maryland LOCATE. Children in the Shoe (EW Hwy) has a rate of $615 per week for infants ($2665 per month) listed there.

This is interesting. Is the workspace in a completely separate area of the daycare and does that work space have access to the daycare? If so, do you know parents need to have background checks since they’ll be in the daycare building?

It would be unusual for parents not to have access to the daycare. They drop off and pick up everyday.

Pretty sure parent access to a daycare is required by licensing rules. They would probably get in big trouble if they left a group of kids with a parent and no teacher there though.
