| Now even dead people aren't safe from DC gun violence. |
| What do you get out of a post like this? You are grotesque. |
Humor is all we have left !!! |
| Since the funeral was held for a homicide victim, do they know if that shooting was retaliatory? |
|
$10 says not a single person commenting on this post has ever been within a mile of this funeral home outside of driving on 295.
But sure, pretend like "OMG we're so unsafe, it could have been me!" |
Totally agree. Funeral violence after a gang member is buried is de rigueur. If you don't know how DC works, don't comment. |
I've only been to a handful of funeral homes, and not that one. But c'mon, a shooting at a funeral home? That's next level. |
Not sure if you are a troll, but i have a serious question. If violence after a gang member funeral is so de rigueur, then wouldn’t mpd be missing an opportunity by not posting an officer to the funeral? |
NP. They did. "Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said a police officer was stationed near the funeral home in northeast Washington where the service was held when the gunfire broke out around 12: 30 p.m." https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/dc-funeral-home-shooting-leaves-1-dead-3-injured-rcna79197 |
It was |
I think the corpse is already dead. |
"You're right - dead people should be allowed to carry. Dead good guys with guns to stop bad guys with guns." - some Republican, somewhere, refusing as always to do anything sensible about gun violence. |
| Did they arrest the suspects? |
Do you never ever watch police dramas on TV or movies? When someone is murdered and if the crime is yet unsolved, there is ALWAYS a cop at the funeral. More likely plain clothes but uniformed also in some cases. Police can be dumb but this isn’t rocket science cops have known for centuries that some murderers tend to enjoy the opportunity to wallow in the fallout of their handiwork. |
Also I should add that many homicide cops attend funerals out of respect for the victims, too. Obviously they can’t always but in this regard what you see on the shows and movies is a reflection of how homicide detectives behave IRL. When you can show respect for the family and also use that opportunity to observe the other attendees and scope out body language etc., that’s a win win for murder police. |
