DD is deciding between Georgetown and Notre Dame. How does the dating scene and social life compare among these schools? |
Brutal winters at ND mean more time under the sheets. |
No condoms allowed. |
I think this is a troll; no birth control from health services at any of these schools. |
Awful at both. |

OP here. No, not a troll. My DD is really torn between these two schools. It’s frankly hard to get a sense of the dating dynamics and are trying to put it in the context of other Catholic colleges. She is worried that the opportunities aren’t great at either school. |
At least bc will always be available at the local CVS in DC, PA and MA. Hopefully you can get it by mail at ND. |
Villanova has Greek life but the other schools you listed don’t |
ND is safe for girls.
Compare rape and sexual assault occurrences to other schools. |
The odds are good but the goods are odd. |
Met my spouse at ND and happily married for 10 years now. Many classmates did the same. Can’t really speak for the more casual dating scene or how it’s changed since I graduated. |
Met my dh at Georgetown. Been married 17 years!
I don't think it's any different than other colleges, to be honest. If you're the dating type you'll hopefully find someone. There were other couples. But there was plenty of the casual hookup crew as well. As for condoms, you can always buy your own. Back in 1999 we had to trudge to the CVS on Wisconsin, but now Amazon can deliver ![]() |
Don’t know about now, but when I was there (in the 90’s) that was not the case. Your post should read: “Compare reported rape and sexual assault occurrences to other schools. |
I am on the Georgetown campus a lot and it’s a really good looking group if co-eds. Very lively campus.
The ratio skews higher female. Many campuses these days are 20% more female, and some more. Maybe she looks at those numbers. |
