| I was surprised to learn that the University of South Carolina offers high stat kids (it's spelled out pretty well what stats are needed) in-state tuition. This is remarkable that they do it and in their transparency. Do other state schools do this (offer the option and advertise it in a very transparent way)? |
| I believe Alabama does too |
| My kid got this from Florida State, but I don't remember if it was spelled out on the website or not. |

If your state schools don’t have a major, some other state’s schools often offer in state.

New Mexico. And you don’t need high stats.
Or pay full rate at Utah the first year and then qualify as in-state. |
| This scenario is where a good UNweighted gpa matters. |
Yet another thing DC students are excluded from. |
| High Point gives big scholarship $$ for high stats. |

Not everyone is as wealthy as you. |
True. However, Alabama used weighted GPA (or the reported GPA) according to their admissions person who was at the recent college fair at GMU. |
Can you double major in something useful? |
| OP. Also look at Florida schools. They may not give you in-state tuition but some decent ones (e.g. USF) will give you a discount off their OOS tuition to make it cheaper that VA instate. |
| LSU, my cousin’s kid just got offered one. |
