| I know they’re available at Whole Foods, but they’re expensive. Where can I buy them more cheaply? |
| Bones? |
| H-Mart and Lotte have various types of frozen bones but they’re not as cheap as they used to be. Are you looking to make bone broth? |
| Union Meat in Eastern Market has a ton - marrow bones, beef knuckles, neck bones ... I've been eying them to make soup myself. I'm not sure how much cheaper than whole foods. |
Yep, looking to make bone broth, and H-Mart was in my mind (closer than Lotte). I’ve got to believe it’s cheaper than Union Market? A |
I’d compare. I went to the H-Mart in Wheaton after a long time and was quite surprised by how high the prices were. |
|
What kind?
I buy a whole rotisserie chicken, strip the meat, and use the bones for chicken broth. |
| Update: I went to Union Market - we were generally int he area and I decided to make an outing of it. The marrow bones were $5.69 a pound which isn’t exactly cheap but I have to say they look pretty incredible. |
Did you go to Union Market, or Union Meat at Eastern Market? |
You didn’t pay much over H Mart prices. |
| Did you try a morgue? |
I did. The bones didn't look that great. |
Ha! I went to the butcher at Union Market. I thought $5.39 was not crazy considering how fancy that place was and how amazing the bones look like. And DS loved lunch. I agree with you about H-Mart - I go there for the great produce and items you can’t get anywhere else, not the prices. |
| OP again! I just realized just now that the recommendation wasn’t even for Union Market. Well luckily they had them! |
Yes! I spent $400 there today. It used to be impossible to spend half that. |
