What size hooded cardigan would you knit for a DC kid due in late May?

I am thinking 6 to 9 months but wondering if there is a chance that will be too small once it’s cold enough?

I'd go with 12 months. You want baby to be able to wear it through much of the next winter.

I agree with 12+ months because infants usually aren’t outside for very long in cold weather and would be hot inside in a hooded cardigan!

My babies were outside all the time. That seems like a weird assumption.

None, I would not put a baby in a hooded cardigan.

What if the hood had a pom-pom?

18 mos. better too big than too tiny. I think my DD was in 18 mos clothing at 6 mos or so

Me either. She's not Mister Rogers.

Forget about the haters! Our au pair showed up with a cardigan for our three month old knitted by her mother. He’s
10 and we still have it.

I'd love one. I'd do 9-12 months.

No one is hating. This is a nice idea but a hoodie is a strangulation risk for that age. Knit a nice cardigan instead.
