I am finally at my goal weight and I would like to splurge on some beautiful items. Sometimes my taste level is not good. I am drawn to hideous things. I’m not sure why. I need help. I am almost 45. Nice jeans and sharp casual wear is what I am looking for.

Have you considered a couple of cashmere sweaters? In general, solid colors steer you right more often than they steer you wrong.

Where do you wear these? I can only wear them to be outside in winter. I get too hot inside.

Smaller stores may be easier for you than large department stores where you have to sift through a lot. Banana Republic, White House Black Market come to mind.
What price point are you thinking?

Jeans, lightweight print blouse, casual solid jacket/blazer for layering. Can’t go too wrong there.

Go to a nice boutique such as Ann mashburn in Georgetown or the hive in old town. They won’t steer you wrong

Club Monaco and Aritzia are for 20 year olds. My DD wears these and quality is just ok.
