My dog chewed on a bone (bought from a pet store) and the tips of his canine tooth broke off. I feel so bad! How horrible is this? Does it happen a lot? Is there anything to do for it?
I feel like a bad dog mom. If my kid broke his tooth I probably wouldn’t be freaking out much more than I am right now. |
| Go to the vet and get it looked at. If the pulp cavity is exposed, the tooth may need to be removed. |
or alternately, if it is not exposed, it will be fine. My cat chipped one of her long teeth when she lunged at a squirrel the other side of a window and landed awkwardly. The vet looked at it and said it wasn't a deep enough loss to matter and only if it later turned brown should we have concern. That was 8 years ago, still fine. |
| Ask the vet and no more bones. |
