No rear view wiper on some new SUVs

Anonymous
Looking at some SUVs and some companies are choosing to leave off the rear view wiper. Isn’t that dangerous or will I not notice it much or use it anyway?

I use mine all the time but I’d guess it has to do with the aerodynamics of the vehicle. We survived in the 70s and 80s without them.

Everything made after 2019 is even more garbage than it already was.

I have a 2017 and didn't realize until I had been driving it for a week that it had no rear wiper. I only miss it in the snow but the rear defroster does a good job.

I use it for pollen.

But I'm sure I'd get used to not having it.

I never turn mine on our pilot. It seems useless.

Yep, I'm the same. I have a 2016 Explorer that has a rear wiper which I basically never use. The only times I have used it is to make sure that it still works.

We have one car with and one without a rear wiper. It makes me forget to use the one with the wiper, even though it's actually quite useful in awful weather (beyond normal rain). But then how often do we have awful weather?

You'll get used to it.

I miss pop up headlights the most.
