Does almond flour really go bad?

It has been opened in a cabinet and now past date. It looks and smells fine. Wanted to make a Passover dessert..

It can go rancid but you would know.

The longer it sits in unsealed in a cabinet, the more likely weevils or moths will find it

It is in a sealed container... definitely no bugs.

Just check it before using it. Easy to do , use a sifter. If you see bugs, move on.

Always a good practice anyway, as you'd be surprised how many infestations happen in stores before goods get home

We keep opened almond flour in the refrigerator.

Agree with others: almond flour can go bad (you would easily smell the rancid almonds), and DEFINITELY check for bugs which may be hiding - sifter is a good idea

It can go rancid, like anything oily. If it smells and tastes fine, you’re good to go.
