Columbia is just too far for a meal but it looks really good. Would love something like this closer. |

Siam House right by the Cleveland Park Metro is really delicious, underrated, I think.
Not DC proper but much closer than Columbia: Charm Thai in downtown Silver Spring is excellent. Their dishes I find run slightly oilier and notably spicier as a default than Siam House, but still very good. A standby. Both have extremely nice staff and owners. |

Siam House is lovely but has maybe 3 inside tables, and a half dozen outside. It's tiny.
Thai Chef was historically good, although I haven't been in 10+ years. https://www.thaichefdmv.com/dc |

Soi 38 is good. My favorite was Thai Xing but they closed.
Not Thai, but Lao - Thip Khao in Columbia Heights is terrific. Ruan Thai in Wheaton is great, if you can venture out to the not too distant suburbs. |
| What am I missing - besides the sweets that looks like every generic americanized thai place all over the DC area. There is one every half mile all over the suburbs in VA and MD |
| Soi 38 has menu items I've never see at any other Thai restaurants in the US but have seen in Thailand and other countries. Worth checking out. |
| Baan Siam, 4th and I |
I've ordered from here (very close to where I am) but have only gotten my classics. What do you recommend here to branch out? |
| Regent Thai in Adams Morgan is my fave. |
| RIP Little Serow, formerly the best Thai place in DC. |
| Thanks for all of the recommendations! I have been to many of the ones mentioned, I guess what stood out was the ambiance and drinks, just felt like a different vibe than most Thai places I’ve been to. |
