I have all his books and I had preordered his latest book when I saw the NYT article a month ago about his terminal diagnosis. I had hoped he would have more time. So sad for his husband and son.

I’m sorry to learn this. I heard an interview with him recently and was introduced to him through it. I have his latest book on my book list. He sounded so sick on the interview I had assumed he was in his 80s. So sad.
