Real estate agents please answer

Anonymous
I’m 50. Need a major lifestyle change as I don’t have any money as I’ve been a Stay at home mom. Is the real estate exam hard? I have been procrastinating about the course and I have two weeks to get it done before I have to pay for an extension. My studies have been …..sporadic so I don’t remember things I learned months ago. Is this a good field to get into ? I’m guessing not as no one is buying but it will change.

Just remember there is more real estate agents than there is housing inventory.

The test is not hard but getting business is.

If you don’t have time to learn the material do you think you’ll be good at helping clients?

+1000. Getting the license is easy, getting business is really hard and there are lot fixed costs, so you have to make some money to cover that first. I got my license a couple of years ago and am making some money, but it’s not an easy business. You also have to be really flexible and available short notice, so if you have kids, take that into account. Lots of showings etc. during times that the kids are not in school.
