Most versatile - 3qt or 4qt pan?

Getting new cookware one piece at a time for our new induction stove. My current (non-magnetic) set has a 1, 2, 3, and 4 qt pot.
I’d like a set with a small and medium pan, and the a 5/6qt for pasta and soups. For a medium pan, would you reach more for a 3qt or 4qt? |
