Hershey Park Easter Weekend

We are passing through Hershey next weekend and plan to spend a day at the park, either Friday or Saturday.

Does anyone have insight on which day would be less crowded? Park hours are the same each day and either could fit into our schedule. Would Friday be the better day? Are schools up there in session on Friday? Anything else to take into account?

I went last year on Saturday. It was very busy and the hotel we stayed at was fully booked (actual long lines for a standard continental breakfast!). Lines in the park were decent first thing in the morning. Coasters had the longest lines (usually at least an hour). We left fairly early, so I can’t speak to night crowds.

We always spend the money to get the Fast Track pass for our roller-coaster-loving kid at Hershey. No point going all that way and only being able to ride 3 coasters all day because of the lines.

Hershey lodge does a great Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday. Does anyone know what the “ bunny trail” at Hershey hotel is like? We didn’t love the lodge and would prefer to stay at the hotel but the kids really liked the egg hunt and I’m trying to figure out if the hotel is similar in activities like that

We went a couple of years ago and surprisingly, the park is not that crowded on Easter Sunday (but were packed the two days before).

They offer the sweet preview, where you can enter the park the evening before your ticketed day. So we did quite a few rides on Saturday evening before Easter, then did the rest on Easter Sunday and left early enough to drive home.

We've done this more than once and the park will be crowded on Friday and Saturday. Not super-duper packed, but keep in mind that it's very early in the season for them, and set your expectations accordingly. Typically, not everything is open yet (rides, food places, etc.) and many of the workers are new or relearning the job so everything that is open moves very, very slowly. Fast track will help you fit in more big rides, if that's your thing.

We were there for a concert Easter weekend a couple years ago and the park was absolutely packed. Coaster lines were 2 hours minimum. Do not recommend.
