Alfajores - macaroons or not

What’s the actual question about macaroons or are you just generating clicks?

There is a debate as to whether they are the same thing - technically no b/c alfajores usually have a corn-starch base. Macaroons have a meringue. Both are common Passover desserts b/c do not need flour. Alfajores are a common Sephardic cookie.

Not the same. Both are sandwich cookies. Macaron is a meringue with almond flour.
