My husband hung ours himself. Bought those screw in hooks that are rated to hold like 400 pounds and also added springs as per the advice of some online forum. Very secure and easy.

I don't think the installation is hard but I recently had opportunity to see the joists in my porch and it didn't give me confidence about adding a swing. I'd cut a small hole and look around in there.
