Enrollment Audit Finally Posted

I haven't had a chance to dig in, but OSSE (quietly) posted the enrollment audit today.

Someone else dig so I don't have to!

Thank you! I love this data set. Cannot wait to dig in.

681 freshmen at JR. I would say that the 700 figure rumored on here back in the fall was accurate.

Langley Elementary had 116(!) likely residency cheats... More than 1/3rd of its student body. That is insane and that principal will almost certainly be let go at the end of the year no matter whether they are otherwise liked.

That's a typo.

If that were true, Langley would be facing a massive budget cut, and it's slated for an enrollment increase in the budget process. So it's likely a typo and there were 16, not 116, kids with residency issues.

That's still actually a lot and possibly enough to get the school in trouble... but obviously not the egregious eye popping level that 116 is.

It has to be. Who will cheat to go to Langley?

It's happened a few times in the past. It's not as bad a school as it used to be, and it's right next to McKinley Tech so a lot of people commute there.

The school only gets in trouble if it's determined to be their fault. If the forgery of papers was really convincing, or if the issue relates to a kid in non-public placement so the school registrar doesn't see their paperwork at all, then they won't be in trouble.

Is the admin at Langley that bad? They also have the issue with the teacher accused of assaulting the student.

It's not that bad, that residency number is a typo. Nobody has ever had that many residency cheats. You'd be hard-pressed to find 116 people willing to sneak into Langley if you paid them.

The assaulting student thing was investigated by DCPS and cleared.

Doesn't Langley also have a sizable population from the Joint Base? It can be hard for military connected kids to get all their residency stuff correct. With that said... 16 is still high.
