Question regarding DC tax ID for nanny share

Anonymous
For those who have set up a nanny share or a nanny in DC and have filed for a dc tax ID, do you recall what you selected for this answer in the DC tax ID registration: “Will you own or hold in trust any tangible personal property located or available for use in DC?”

It seems to require a separate property tax filing if so, but we can’t get ahold of anyone in the dc tax office to ask about this. We are a little confused bc we own our house, but it seems like the form is for businesses who own property.

We are using Sure payroll, but evidently they do not help with completing these tax forms.

Switch to poppins payroll. They took care of ALL of this for me.

We didn't use Poppins because we'd read that they had difficulty with a DC employer with a MD employee.

I assume the YOU in the question is not you personally but the theoretical business that has the TIN and employees the nanny. That entity does not own any property.

I’m a DC nanny employer and my nanny lives in MD. This sounds like nonsense.
