5 weeks to go until baby #2, what should I get done?

On my list:
- double what I’m making for dinner once or twice a week in the next few weeks and freeze the extra
- schedule a deep clean of the house

What else should I do?? It’s been a crazy few months and I feel behind.

How old is your first? A good thing to do is make sure you have a plan for care of your first child, as well as get him/her into the routine you want for after the child is born. My older kid went to half day preschool and we kept that up.

Have some deep convos with friends you don't see often (because you won't for the next several months). I'd personally schedule a wax and pedicure, and some extra one-on-one time with DC1 to kind of bask in the last moments of family of 3.

Mani/pedi
Prenatal massage
Date night
Quality time with other children
Pack your hospital bag
Baby gear ready
Fill prescriptions and pantry/fridge

Rest. Rest rest rest. Then rest some more.

The #1 thing you need to be ready for baby #2 is rest. Everything else can take a back seat.

Hair appointment!

The fact that you said "schedule a deep clean of the house" makes me think you don't have regular cleaners. If that is in the budget, get it set up.

Maintenance type dr appointments for your other kid - dentist, well check if its possible to fit in in, the same for you and for DH, and any animals for that matter!

Date nights

Fun outings with your older DC.

I personally did a ton of meal prep and ended up not eating a lot of it because it just what we wanted, but YMMV. My experience was we were not crockpot meal people so we were for sure not freezer crockpot meal people.

Get on same page as DH as far as visitors post baby. Hopefully you worked that out last time but if there were issues, prepare for them!!

Totally agree that cleaners are a must with two little kids. Make it happen and cut back on other things if you have to. I would cut a lot of things out of my budget before I cut my cleaning lady.

So you’re 35 weeks? Prepare for the fact that you may have more like 3 weeks than 5! And yes, agree with all the previous advice.
