Full day preschool but only 2-3 days a week?

I’ve reached out to several centers, and schools trouble finding accommodation to this type of schedule.

It’s either the three day half day or 5 day half or full day which is not my preference because I have a 3 year child with motor delays so we would like to do do 1-3 days at most but it has to be a full day to avoid a mid day pickup. We have a great nanny who’s been with us since baby was 2 months old but she doesn’t drive and can only do 9 hour shifts because she relies on her family for transportation.

I also am uncomfortable with a new nanny, because we love the one we have and my child is deeply attached. We have told nanny our school plans and she wants to remain with us, as this will most likely be her last charge.

Full day is for working parents and will always be 5 days. If you can send you kid only a few days a week, the assumption is that you have child care

You may need to pay for the 5 day full day but use as needed.

If you are looking for suggestions of preschools that fit the schedule, you'll need to add a location.

In MoCo I know that Kidsco Jr and Children in the Shoe offer part time schedules.

We are in Great Falls, but looking in Reston and Vienna primarily for schools.

I did this but in the Boston area. You don’t see it much in DC but I think you can get it out in the suburbs some. Where are you located?

I think a lot of working parents are interested in this but it’s not always with it to centers to provide the service and deal with cross filling spots, etc. We did this (3 day) at 2 separate centers up north both pre- and post-COVID before we moved here. The first place charged 75% of the cost for 60% time. The second place charged the same daily rate. But neither place ever had our daughter’s spot cross filled, so I understand it would be annoying.

Have you tried Celebree School in Reston? They are a newer school and may be able to do a part time schedule like this.

In the City, Goddard, Phase Learning Center and TOTH are the only ones that offer full day part time.

Home day cares? I know the one near my house is very flexible with days/time, but have no direct experience since my kids stayed with a nanny until they started preschool at 3

A thought for you... Why not just have the nanny Uber to pick up the children and bring the car seats. That way you could do half day options if needed.
