For most people #5 requires that they inherit well. For the lucky, that means just not pissing off their parents so much that they disinherit you. For most people it's not happening.

#1 is the only attainable missing middle option currently available. Condos are less expensive because the monthly fees add anywhere from $600 - $1,200 a month
