11. I think brunch should include both morning and early afternoon hours, so 11 is the latest I would start it.

For those doing church 11 may be too early.

11 is early! Brunch goes till 2pm!

I'd start no later than noon. If starting later I wouldn't serve breakfast foods.

Make quiche (can reheat in oven the day-of), and do a bagels/lox spread.

Then my answer would be that OP should serve lunch if it doesn’t start until noon or later. To me, a brunch that starts at noon is kinda strange!

Thanks. Everyone here seems to have the same thoughts I have. I’ve heard all the way up until 2:00 but that seems excessive. Thanks all!

Brunch indicates anything during the lunch and breakfast hours, which serves both types of food. People go to brunch at one or 2 PM all the time!

It’s not a breakfast, it’s a brunch. 10 or 11 would indicate breakfast.

11am. To me, brunch means between breakfast and lunch.

It’s literally a combination of the words breakfast and lunch. It’s between breakfast time and lunch time.

Those saying 11am is the latest start, what would be the earliest, then? To me, 10 and earlier is squarely breakfast time.

I would say 10. To me 8 or 8 is breakfast and something starting at 10 or 11 is brunch and something starting at 12 or 1 is lunch and something starting at 4:30 or later is dinner (not like I would serve dinner at 4:30, but you could have apps and drinks starting at 4:30 or later and then have a dinner event.

That’s just me!
