Reminded by the fan post that this is an anonymous forum, I want to ask a question I have been too embarrassed to ask anyone in real life. If we exhale fat, if we exercise (or do anything) with a mask on and breathe back the air in, are we breathing the fat back in? |
What do you think? |
This is stupid. You aren't being "deep" or "scientific" - just dumb.
Just stop. |
No, you are not exhaling fat; you exhale carbon dioxide, which does not have any calories. Fat is used as a source of energy for your body. Wearing a mask should not make any difference. It might in fact make exercise very slightly harder, since you might not get quite as much oxygen with each breath, so you could potentially use a tiny bit more energy. |
This is OP- we really do exhale (and pee out) fat. https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/26/health/lose-weight-where-does-it-go-partner/index.html |
That's not how it works so, no. |
Here is another one: https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna56630474 |
Did you read the article -- fat turns into Carbon Dioxide IN YOUR BODY. We exhale carbon dioxide, which, yes, is how we lose weight. But it's not "fat" coming out of your mouth. It's carbon dioxide! And then the trees consume it and that's how they grow! Love thinking about that beautiful relationship. |
I can't.
Anyone else worried about this countries future? Are there kids on here today? What is happening?! |
No question is stupid. So don't feel bad. But you aren't exhaling fat. You are exhaling carbon dioxide and water.
So you can't inhale fat. If you could, you'd probably choke on it. |
The only thing embarrassing about this is still wearing a mask. |

stop feeding into this dude's nonsense Let his clever little uneducated self go away |
OP is definitely a young man thinking he is being funny |
Well yes, you exhale carbon dioxide, which is a component of fat. But your body cannot turn the carbon dioxide back into fat, so the mask won't make a (direct) difference. |
