UTAH law banning books with sensitive or graphic material may ban Bible

I am pretty sure if the committee uses the same standards used to ban other books, the Bible will also be banned. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11894203/Utah-school-district-ban-BIBLE-complaints-new-conservative-law.html

I doubt they ban it, hopefully whoever challenged the Bible is willing to take this through the courts. A standard for one set of books and a different standard for the bible seems like Establishment to me

They should ban the book of mormon.

Are biographies of Joseph Smith banned?

The Bible has a lot of nasty content:

*war and bloodshed
*human sacrifice
*animal sacrifice
*murder
*rape
*genocide
*filicide (parent killing their own child)

And that's just to name a few of its inappropriate depictions/themes.

Ban the Bible!

Let's keep this going, folks!

*fratricide (Cain and Abel)
*killing of all first-born sons
*obsession with adultery and fornication
*stoning to death
*beheadings

Does Lot's daughter's liquoring him up to have an incestuous orgy count as date rape?

Have these Rs never read the Song of Songs?

It's basically erotica in biblical times.

Only the "Old Testament" falls afoul of this law.

This unironically benefits Christians. Look at all the carping in this thread, its all aimed at the OT.

The New Testament stands on its own, and did so for hundreds of years before some Byzantine Emperor stapled the two together.

So ban only the Torah/OT? That will go down well.

The Book of Revelations begs to differ.

Revelations is the new testament and it is all about torture
The murder of Christ is in the new testament, or did you forget that
Prostitution and prostitutes are new testament
Briber, treachery, and betrayal is new testament or I guess Judas doesn't count

In the OT Elisha summons bears to maul children and this is presented as a good thing.
In the NT Jesus is scourged and it is presented as a bad thing.

The impact on children, their development and worldview are going to be completely different.
