Dad here-cooking dinner and have a question

Anonymous
I am making dinner for the kids. I have four small boneless chicken breasts in a pyrex long dish marinating. How long do I bake them and on what temp? Do I cover them? Too embarrassed to call my wife. Thanks.

Bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Epicurious.com will always have an answer for you.

Definitely 350 - won't be more than 20 minutes, I would guess. Uncovered, on a greased cookie sheet, and not in the pyrex with all the marinade.

Here's a hint: when you take them out of the oven, leave the oven on until you are SURE they aren't undercooked (i.e. after everyone has bitten in). That way if you screw up, there's still a hot oven available.

350 for 30 minutes or until cooked through. If you want to get it just right, you can pull it out five or ten minutes ahead and cut into the thickest part of one of the breasts and see how it's going. Serve that one to yourself.

Good, so I should put them in now. Do I cover them?

Wow - I'm Ms. 20 minutes. I would defer to 17:46, though.

350 degrees for 45 mins. Cut into one about 30 mins in to gauge how done they are. I wouldnt cover with foil.

Easy Recipe

Sweet & Sour Drumsticks

Season drumsticks with coarse salt and pepper

Whisk together these ingredients (eyeball it and taste test don't go overboard with mustard)

Red Wine Vinegar
Mustard
Honey or Brown sugar

Drizzle this over drumsticks and cover for about 45 mins
Uncover for 10-15 until they get a bit of crust

Thanks everyone. I asked the covering question before I saw the responses. I was going to bake them in the pyrex, so I am glad I saw the post about the cookie sheet.

I would cut them into fajita style strips and fry them in a little bit of olive oil - yum!
You'll know when it's ready and it won't take 20 minutes.

Google will solve any cooking question. Or at least give you several good options.

Google's got nothing on DCUM.

We're so helpful! (To men, anyhow...)

Does anyone else feel that if this was a woman posting, DCUM would have been yelling, shaming, and berating her that she should be posting on the food forum?

Not all of us! Most of us are nice and helpful. But yes, the forum police would have commented. And someone would have said "I can't believe this is the kinds of thing you are posting on dcum for, your ignorant, pitiful person".
