Trump rally in Waco on Saturday

On the 30th anniversary of the raid on the Branch Davidians. It’s hugely symbolic to the far Right and a sign from Trump that he’s on their side. Not that it’s any great news but he’s openly courting the extremists.
Similar to Reagan kicking off his 1980 campaign in Philadelphia MS. Location of the killing of three civil rights workers.

The Repugs sure like to signal to their basest base.

After all, is "marrying" a 10 year old girl really all that bad? MAGA!

Jewell became Koresh's youngest "bride" when she was just 10, and would later testify in Congress that Koresh molested her at a motel. She told Primetime she was not upset at the time. "I had been trained from a very early age that this was a good thing," she said.

Is there a third camp for people who don't want to burn children or marry them?

No, pick a side.

While it has been 30 years, the initial raid was February 28 and the final assault on the compound was April 19 so this weekend is not really an anniversary.

And while I don't defend Koresh (and I hate Donald Trump), the government F'd the entire thing up, from start to finish and I'm not at all a right winger.

It would be funny (?) if he ended up on Chip and Joanna's show while he was there. I feel like they've done more to re-brand Waco than anyone ever could hope for.

Also, he's such a weirdo. Though so long as he's the weirdo going after DeSantis, I'm kind of - I don't know.

Looks like Florida isn't loving him quite so much anymore, tho.
