Capital Grille or Bourbon Steak?

Meeting up with some old friends I haven’t seen in quite a while and I’m looking for a quality steak restaurant. Preferably on the quiet side where we can have a conversation without shouting. If it makes any difference, we’re all guys in our 50s. I think it’s between these two, but I’ll take other suggestions.

Bourbon Steak is cozier + less sterile/corporate.

Agree the ambience at Bourbon Steak is better but I feel like it’s gone downhill in terms of food.

Are you wanting to stay downtown for dinner? If not, we love Randy’s but it’s out by Tysons.

I had a bad experience at Bourbon Steak a few months ago. Not a great steak and both DH and I felt horrible afterwards.

Bourbon Steak has gotten over the top expensive and the quality is not as good. Capital Grill is a better bet.

I’d choose BLT Steak over both of them.

Interesting - a friend of mine got food poisoning from there a few months ago. It was pretty bad.

PP you quoted. I wasn't going to say food poisoning because there are so many unknowns - but it really seemed like we had gotten food poisoning. It was a bummer because we really loved Bourbon Steak and it was our special occasion place.
