Reporting back on Omnilux mask...

I posted a week or two ago that it was a game changer. Well, now I am two weeks in am pretty certain it is making me break out. I haven't changed anything else about my skincare routine. I get these little red pimples in different areas of my face each time. I think I am going to send it back....ugh.

Are you making sure to wipe it clean after every use?

No I am not, but I wash my face just before using so that would not be the reason.

Wipe it down with an alcohol wipe. I always wash right before too and I happened to wipe mine down one day- the wipe was so dirty after!! Now I do it regularly and I always get some gray stuff off. Seriously. Maybe it’s just oil or who knows but I always do mine with a clean face too. It’s just light so that shouldn’t cause a breakout.

I have to say I really love mine. I probably don’t use it as often as I should, but can absolutely tell a difference when I do. No issues with breakouts.

I’m having the same issue. I got my Omnilux Contour mask in early December, have used it regularly and have seen more and more breakouts. I clean my mask with a warm, damp cloth after every use (as directed) and only use my mask right after my face is washed (no products on it). I was thinking of cleaning it with rubbing alcohol to be sure it’s getting oil off before returning it, which I hate to do because I have noticed other benefits (lightening my sun spots, some reduction in fine lines).

In your experience, should I consider this a temporary skin purge and stick with it or just accept my skin does not react well and return it? It was rather expensive to be dealing with such an unwanted side effect.

I am the OP!!! I missed the return window and decided to keep using it. The break outs totally went away. As long as I keep us with exfoliation, my skin is totally clear. I use the highest strength of retin-a nightly which I always thought was enough exfoliation, but for some reason I seem to need extra exfoliation because of the mask, especially in the beginning.

You need to clean it with rubbing alcohol every single time. A warm damp cloth is going to breed more bacteria. The user manual says that 70% alcohol is fine. If you don’t do this, I’m not sure why you’d be surprised that you’re breaking out.

Hi! I am having the same issue. I am experiencing breakouts and dry skin, wipe down with an alcohol wipe and use every other day.

is this just a purge and I should stick with it? Or return?

Yup, stick with it! I am the OP that complained about break outs. I ended up keeping it. The breakouts stopped. I just needed to exfoliate more.
