birthday party idea for tween -- makeup? skin care?

Does anyone know of a consultant or company that will come to your house and talk to tween girls about skin care or show them how to apply basic makeup? Maybe teach how to do their hair? Does Sephora do this? Ulta?

Is this your idea or your dd? I can't imagine nothing more boring. Why not go bowling?

My girls would have loved this- bowling parties get boring with all the waiting.

OP- I don't know of someone who does exactly what you are asking, but we have done spa parties. Girls did their own nails (but you can hire salon people too), face masks, make soaps or scrubs. All the girls had a ton of fun. I do think there are companies that will do this but we did it on our own. Lots of ideas on Pinterest.

Also, to the previous pp, my dd hates bowling and is tired of zavazone and ziplining and all the other stuff around here. And we were thinking of a smaller sleepover group with this option.

Are you a tween girl? This is a great idea for girls that age, my tween girl would love this as opposed to the millionth bowling/bounce place party.

Is your DD and her friends into this? My 13 DD and friends aren’t at all

Tween? So we are talking 10-12? I think this is too young to be pushing and glorifying a bunch of cosmetics and skincare products. You are sending a messaging that they need and should wear makeup if they want to be beautiful. Skincare is slightly different, but for the practical purpose of caring for the skin, they don’t need to be doing anything other than washing, moisturizing (maybe)
And sunscreen

Oh please. It's one birthday party. And no harm in them learning about skin care. DD rarely wears make up but when she does it is applied properly. I think this is a great idea.

The whole face mask thing and make up/nail polish lasts like an hour before the girls are ready to move on.

Better have a movie, pizza making, art project, or whatever lined up and ready to go to kill the remaining time.

I did a spa party years ago. We had stations at home. They made their own bath salts, made face pasta and used them. Soaked their feet in tubs and I hired a neighborhood teen to paint toenails. Was pretty fun! I had a quiet room with spa music going where some soaked while others made the bath salts I think. We set it up as rotating stations and then they are and hung out.

Tween girls do not need a craft or busy projects. If OP is doing a sleepover this is a good way to occupy some time before they veg out in front of a movie and gossip. There is a big difference between an 8 year old and a 12 year old in terms of needing to keep them entertained at a party.
