| I'm throwing a dinner party next weekend based on this classic show complete with a mystery. What can I serve besides lobster?? |
|
Sounds fun!
I thought I remembered Jessica Fletcher making baked beans in one episode |

Anything from the Murder She Cooked cookbook! I definitely think of blueberries from Maine. Maybe a blueberry cheesecake. Also I remember having popovers in restaurants there. |
| Cabot cheese |
|
Steamed clams and oysters on the half shell
clam chowder Out of season but tomatoes and corn on the cob Blueberry muffins Strawberry shortcake (that is a Maine Fourth of July staple) Salmon is also a fourth of July thing in New England that has gone by the wayside - with peas Potatoes |
| I haven't ever been to Maine, but would think seafood-focused menu as others have said. This idea is so much fun though - I would want to come to this party! |
Me too! Tell us more, Op! |
| Yes I want more details on the rest of this party! Sounds super fun! |
| Can you make a dish with a “mystery ingredient” that everyone has to guess? Like mayo in a chocolate cake or potato chips in chocolate chip cookies. |
OH this sounds like a neat idea too |
No suggestions but you seem fun and I wish we were friends. |
| There is an episode where she has a dinner party and someone laces the clam chowder (??) with something. |
