Today for the 5am class - the instructor was a no show. We tried to run on the treadmills and have a self guided workout but the desk clerk told us we were not allowed.

Instructor finally showed at 5:45am.

If I miss a class for some reason - I'm charged $20 no show fee. What do I get when the instructor doesn't show?

Did you talk to management and ask them to credit this class for you?

That is very frustrating. I hated when my gym, 24 hr fitness was not 24 hours right after covid and there were mornings I arrived only to wait in the parking lot for the open to arrive.

Hopefully it won't happen again. We all screw sometimes and oversleep. If it happens frequently I assume they would let the instructor go.

I would be so pissed if I woke up at 430 for a no-show teacher. I'd never go to their class again.

This is why I quit OTF. The class structure was just too short and I wanted a longer workout or to spend more time on some things. Since you can only use it while a class is in session, unlike a regular gym, it just didn't suit my needs. That's infuriating they wouldn't let everyone in to just work out on their own. Why would you need a babysitter?

I would expect at least $20 (missed class fee) credited to my account.

they do not provide a one time grace - why should instructors get a pass?

I’m guessing it’s a liability issue. I’d be pissed too. If it happens again I’d cancel my membership but id forgive the coach oversleeping their alarm once. Only once.

I'm not sure I'd describe your situation as a "failure", but I do understand your frustration. I'm sure if you speak to the studio manager, you'll get your class credited and perhaps something more like the PP posted. If you have the Elite package or whatever it's called, I'd chalk this up to sh*t happens, especially if this is a one-off. I'm sure the instructor was mortified and felt really bad.

That's very frustrating. I think it's reasonable to ask for a class credit. I would have just run outside if they wouldn't let you use the equipment though, not sure why you waited around for 45min

Yup. Same here except I got a credit and two free spin classes.

I used to go to solidcore and I seem to remember there was an issue with a class. We for the originally class credited back + another one.
