First time mom here, newly pregnant. We live in Vienna and looking for daycare options around us.

Any you would recommend and why? And Why?

Your child’s place

Happy Younglings. It's an in-home daycare. Excellent place that works with your children's allergies and behavior challenges. Both my kids went there and loved it.

I've heard Tysons Corner Childrens Center, on the Spring Hill side, is good for infants. I have a friend with a kid there, as well as one at Celebree and another with a kid at Goddard.

Lewinsville Montessori is 12-months all-day (2 wks holiday at Xmas) and accepts infants starting around 3-4 months through age 5. 2 fenced play areas, which are used for different age ranges. It is on Great Falls Street, not far from 123. They lease space in a Fairfax County building.

Westgate Children’s Center is a different business leasing space in the same building. They compete, but start at an older range and have an aftercare setup for early elementary also. Also has fenced play area.

I should have said that Lewinsville doesn’t do much “Montessori” stuff before age 2. Also, there is lots of play time there, so it isn’t just Montessori materials. They do a good job with Phonics, letters, numbers, colors, and drawing/crayon things. Most 4yr olds start to read during that year.

That's no where close to Vienna though.

I attended and then worked at Hunter Mill Country Day before moving on to start my career as a k-6 teacher. I would be confident sending my own kids there, it’s a great program.

Celebree Tysons location.

Hunter Mill Country Day.

I attended myself, worked there for years after high school and during college. I am now a teacher myself with a degree in child development and if I were to have a baby I would enroll them at HM. It's one of the most reasonably priced in the area and off Hunter Mill Road so convenient to Oakton and Vienna. Most students attend Waples Mill, Oakton, Vienna, or Providence after prek there.
