Tell me everything about Grace Episcopal School in Kennsignton. The Great, the gapped, The okay, the not so okay, and the bad.
Any info would be helpful. For pre and for k. |
| My daughter went for Pre-k and we loved it! Very nurturing, lots of outside exploration and play, fostered critical thinking, independence and kindness. Everyone we interacted with was lovely. We switched her to public for K but I do sometimes wish we had kept her there. |
| I have heard very good things. Was considering it for my shy kiddo because I heard they had small class sizes and were nurturing. A friend's daughter loved their prek program. |
| Small, overpriced, not a lot of kids in upper grades. They had to lease out some of their space as they couldn't fill up. |
| I've heard great things about the school and teachers. It's small and they make a real effort to be an inclusive and supportive community. Whats not to like> |
|
Small, affordable, loving. Lots of outdoor time.

| How do the kids do once they transfer to a bigger school? My guess is that it won’t be easy |
| Their 5th graders get into a wide variety of schools. My children are friends with some students who went to Grace and they seem very well adjusted and happy in middle school. |
Why wouldn't it? Lovely kids from lovely homes with a solid foundation. So much overthinking in the DMV! |
| Unfortunately they are very committed to Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop |
As are many DMV independent schools.... |
| We pulled our children after four days of school at Grace. Terrible experience. Do not recommend. Our children are now in public school - we had no other option, we were out a massive amount of money and all other schools we applied to were full - and while I am not happy with the public school either, I can say with absolute certainty that my oldest child is having a better year than she would have had at Grace. |
Any details about what was so bad? It’s pretty uniformly positive in this board over the years. |
Can you explain a bit, please? Thx in adv. |
