EasyJet vs RyanAir?

Anyone have experience with these carriers and have an opinion on which one for our family of four this summer?

Both are bad.

Easyjet is a step above, if price is similar I would go with them. Still nothing amazing, but they run a better operation from my limited (once on each) experience.

Just note which specific airports you are flying to/from, as these carriers offer multiple flights to multiple airports in the same area. Places like London/Paris/Milan have multiple airports.

Ive flown both dozens of times. They are pretty much the same. I wouldn’t let the carrier determine the decision. Go based off of convenience for your trips and cost, whatever factors more heavily into your decision making.

Ryanair is a bit worse. Ryanair is very clear that it is a budget airline, you get what you pay for, and if you ever want any kind of accommodation (you are 1 minute late for check in, your bag is 1cm too big) you will not get it, and it feels like they take great pleasure in denying it! Whenever I fly either of them, I read very carefully all the dimensions and weight limits of the bags, and also check carefully the airports as they often use ones that are far from the city you’re going to, which can really add to the cost.
However… I used to live in Europe and took them all the time for quick trips, and the price is usually unbeatable, and so it was generally worth it. If I were picking between them I’d go EasyJet, but usually you’re picking based on routes and they are rarely exactly the same.

Ryanair is much much worse. Easyjet is fine, you get what you pay for. Ryanair would keep nickel and diming you if the plane was crashing. Mind you, death would be a sweet release from the ghastliness of the Ryanair experience.

Thank you! Sounds like EasyJet is the winner. The route is a one-way between two fairly major cities and the prices are within a few dollars of each others. Thanks for the help!

Check the actual airports they fly into.

They don’t call it SqueasyJet for nothing.
