Um. My (older, male) boss (I'm a female) texted me asking if I was about to join a meeting. I replied: "Be there in one sex" (I meant sec). I quickly wrote "sec!!" and then got onto the meeting -
Do I acknowledge this? Pretend it didn't happen? I am kind of mortifed. |
| It's fine. Ignore |

Don't acknowledge. Happens all the time and you corrected quicky.
|
| When I wrote in the first sentence of my cover letter that I was very interested in their Pubic Affairs position, I still got an interview and eventually the job. |
| No biggie - saying anything more about it will make it more awkward |
If your five if not you ignore it totally. |
I was always afraid I was going to make this mistake when I worked in pub(l)ic affairs. Good for you for getting the job! |
No Emojis! Ignore, and move on |
|
Ignore and if he jokes about it (likely not) say something like, “this is what happens when I text w/o my glasses.”
This is truly what happens to me when I squint thru texting w/o my readers. |

Once I messaged my boss that I was stuck in a meeting, so I'd be late getting to a second meeting.
She said okay, message me when you're on the way I messaged, "I'm leaving now" which some how auto corrected to "I'm lesbian now" I didn't even notice until after the meeting when she told me congratulations and to check my text. We laughed and moved on. |

Move on. Do not bring this up. This falls under the category of "weird communication stuff at work" that sometimes is brain glitching and sometimes is autocorrect on technology. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you responded automatically? I once told my boss, "Okay, love you! bye!" at the end of a call. We both laughed about it because it was clearly not me confessing love to him.
FWIW, this autocorrect happens to me in the other direction pretty much every time I write s-e-x. |
| Ignore |
| Ignore and move on! |

I would find that hilarious if I wrote that, or if I received that.
Don't worry about it. Such typos make our daily burden a little lighter
