Is there anywhere I can go this evening to eat a good dinner at a bar where others will be doing the same and I won’t feel out of place for being alone? The closer to Georgetown, the better, but I am ok going elsewhere too.
Are you looking for conversation? I prefer a nice table for my dinners out.
I think anywhere there’s a bar, you won’t be the only solo diner. I’d focus on what food you are looking for!
One of the hotel restaurants - Bourbon Steak or Cut. Not the most exciting food ever, but very good.
Anywhere you choose. Seriously, walk in and give not a second thought.
Bar a Vin is really lovely atmosphere and they are doing small plates there while Chez Billy (the attached restaurant) is under construction. Food is really good, amazing wine selection. On a weeknight, not one would blink at you eating alone while reading a book or whatever.
I just had a solo dinner at the pizza bar at L'Ardente.

Anywhere you want. I like bistro liberte. Beautiful bar, great food.
I travel a lot for work and there is nothing I love more than dinner at the bar with a cocktail and a good book. |
m Four seasons - just pretend you’re on a business trip |
What do you want to eat?
Anywhere

Ris would be convenient and I've heard it's good.
Central (near metro center), Convivial (Shaw), Zaytinya (Gallery Place/Metro Center) would also be good choices. |
Clyde’s Georgetown. You won’t be alone
Anywhere you like. A hotel may be more comfortable for you, if dining alone bothers you. I love it.
OP I would have gone to Martin's Tavern. Hope you found a good spot.
