Job Hopping Question

Anonymous
I have recently started a new job that is OK but not terrific. While I was interviewing for this one, I was also applying for another position at Company B. Company B ghosted me, so I took the job at my existing company.

In the last month, Company B came back to life.  Turns out the HR person left suddenly and didn't leave any notes, so the search went dormant over the holidays and they recently restarted the process. I've had 2 very nice interviews with them, and I'm scheduled to meet the department head next week.

I have not, however, mentioned that I started at a new job in the meantime.  They have my old resume on file and I have not changed my LinkedIn profile.  Do I say anything?  It's too late to mention it now, right?  I'm worried about the reference check.  When they call to verify my employment, my old company will say I left in December.

I just kind of took the first interview on a lark, but now I feel like it's getting serious.  If anyone has any suggestions about how I should handle this, I would appreciate it.

This has happened at a few firms I've worked at. It's not unusual during the first month or so of starting a new position.
One person left after a few days, presumably got a better offer.
Another person left after a few weeks to work for Tesla.

No one cares about this stuff. Background checks are a joke.

Just freeze your TWN if worried.

Just enjoy your negotiating position.

OP here - Thank you so much. I guess my question is, do I disclose that I've taken another job? And if so, when? Is it too late now, after 2 interviews?
