I never thought I'd be in this position but my husband was recently badly injured.
Does anyone have a rec for a reputable (non "ambulance chasing") personal injury attorney? We're in NW DC. |

Bet you they will personally respond to your post. Reputable personal injury lawyer is an oxymoron.
Hope your husband recovers well. |

Simeone and Miller are currently handling my case. It's a long process.

I retained Frank Kearney in 2004/05 after a delivery van driver ran me over in a crosswalk. He came highly recommended to me by another personal injury attorney who could not take my case due to conflicts. I felt like he did a very good job -- very professional and empathetic, good at keeping his eye on the big picture (yes, you want appropriate damages, but you also want them in a timely manner so that you can get on with the rest of your life). Here's the link:
www.donahoekearney.com Good wishes to you and your husband, OP. There is a long journey ahead and you are going to want people to help you wherever possible. If only I could have used some of the money to hire someone to do nothing but wrangle the hospital bills/doctor bills/insurance claims -- THAT would have been money well spent. |
| I'm a defense attorney so I know lots of plaintiff's attorneys. Off the top of my head I'm having trouble thinking of one that is fantastic, although I will continue to think about it. There are lots of good ones out there. I do know, however, many who are terrible and the clients don't realize it, so if you are thinking of hiring someone and want to re-post on here with the name I can try to give you some feedback. |
| Whomever you choose, OP, make certain to check with the Bar to see if they have any history of professional discipline. For DC Bar members this can be done from the Bar's website. Not sure about MD and VA, but you could call and ask. |
