Saved an 18 month old at the pool today

Anonymous
Had my kids in the baby pool area of our community pool today. I see this 18 month old in the pool. I look around. there are no other parents around. I realized later a mom and dad left their three kids - about 6, 3 or 4 and 18 months - in the pool while they (the parents) wandered off. I kept watching this 18 month old closely and sure enough.... he takes a header into the water. Doesn't stand back up. So I run over, pick him up, put him back on his feet, and look around. No parents. They came back a few minutes later never knowing anything had happened.

Um, what the hell?

and you good citizen didn't say anything to them, right?

Thank God you were there, OP!

OP might not have said anything because of being momentarily shocked at the whole situation.

But if you see them again, mention that you saved their kid! Or if you see their kids alone, tell the guards that they are without supervision - it must not be allowed.

OP are you a guy?

If you are and someone saw you help a toddler you would be arrested for kidnapping or child molestation. So if you do help a child act like is was an accident and move on.

Are you kidding me? What kind of rubbish is this? The whole world is not out to molest and kill your child.

What a crazy comment. And I'm a litigator. That's nuts.

Who's the crackpot MRA popping up on DCUM lately?

They're talking about the 99% assurance thread. On page 2 iirc a guy shared his story about finding a lost child on a ski slope and the mother's subsequent freak-out at him. Adding on to it are a bunch of dingbats who, amoung other things, are comparing the situation to a child lost at a mall, and saying that obviously there was something wrong with him and he is a troll and/or sock puppet.

Good times.

Can You tell us which which community pool this occurred in--otherwise, I call bullshit, fear mongering trolling.

No, I am not going to tell you my community pool. But it is not bull shit. It actually happened.

O.P you deserve a Hero's medal and to be on Good morning America news channel.

I think you should have said something to the parents.

OP, please tell me you said something to them? It could have been a warning and woken them up that maybe they need to pay attention to their children.

Life Guard's fault.
I was one for over 10 years and if the kiddos were without supervision they were not allowed to be in the surroundings of the pool.
