My kid really needs some tutoring in French (8th grade French 2).
It isn't that she is getting bad grades, it is simply that the instruction is awful. I don't know how she will manage in High School French. I have heard that some people actually get tutoring from their French teachers, but that isn't an option here. Are there decent weekend classes or tutoring services in in the area that people have used? |
| Wyzant has lots of great tutors. You can get one that's in-person or online. Check it out: https://www.wyzant.com/ |

Don’t worry the instruction in HS is awful too.
Try looking at the online website Wyzant, there’s a wide variety of language tutors both in terms of skill and cost. |

OP ask your kid's French teacher for the teacher list - it will be HS / MS language teachers in all the MCPS schools who are available for tutoring.
My kid at Whitman worked with a BCC HS French teacher who was excellent (online tutoring starting during the pandemic) and really turned it around for us. Sometimes its just about having more time with the material and more practice that makes a whole grade difference. |
| Yes, we use the Tutor Me. If we don't like a tutor we just request a new one. Free to us. |
Do you just request a new one without contacting Tutor Me that it didn’t work out? I was just wondering about this. |
