late August baby, what to wear under Miracle Blanket at night?

Long sleeved or short sleeved onsies? What about socks, necessary? I used the MB with baby #1 and loved it, so I know we'll be in that again for awhile.

My first child was in NB clothes for 6-8 weeks, he was born 6lbs. 0-3 month stuff was way too big. I'm assuming I'll have another smallish baby but you never know. How many NB onsies should I buy for nighttime use? I'm just going to buy white ones.

onsies? rmember how tired you are? get the tee-shirts that snap or tie. The ones that you don't need to put over baby's head. No bottoms, just the diaper so that you can just feed change and put baby back down.

Oh yeah! Last time I used those elastic bottom gowns I think. Do you think long sleeved Ts or short sleeve though and what about those socks?

Nada and another blanket on top! We keep our air-conditioning between 68-72 degrees (depending on my hormones) and my DS (4 wks) sleeps swaddled in two medium weight blankets with just a diaper on... I'm actually big on the blankets and a diaper around the house. It's just soooo easy!

DS was born last June and we didn't have central AC, only window units. We swaddled with the aden and anas muslin wraps and put him in a diaper + white spa silk t-shirt. It was great.

I personally did not like fussing with the side snap shirts (found them to be harder than a t-shirt) so long as the shirts had the nice lap stitch or whatever they call it on onesies to make them stretch better!

19:49 here -- it was a short sleeve t-shirt. We didn't switch to long sleeve onesies until October -- too hot!

DS's were born in June and July. In the heat of summer I just swaddle them in their diaper. I was too afraid of them overheating to put anything else on under the Miracle Blanket.

Depends on how warm you keep the room

We swaddle ours in a MB with just a onesie underneath (short sleeved). We keep the house pretty cool though and I don't mind the snaps on the onesie (there are generally only 3 of them, not a big deal). Socks are not necessary, I've found.

We used onesies when in was warm.

we've been putting our 3-week-old in a footed sleeper and then swaddling her in 2 light blankets - we keep our room pretty cool and she's never felt overheated when she wakes up to feed, but now I'm worried that we're overdressing her! with her head uncovered, wouldn't that help her regulate her body temp and keep from getting overheated? or should we stop using the footed sleepers under the swaddle blankets?

Do some of the pps (and future posters) mind posting the temperature at which they keep their house? We are having a baby this summer and I was wondering how to dress the baby too. But we keep our house at 70-72. So I'm afraid she won't be warm enough in just a diaper and a blanket.
