| If you are growing your own MJ at home, how is it? And did you start? |
| It will become legal to grow in Maryland July 1st, not yet, so the MJ gardners are only in VA and DC. Advice for MD gardners? |
|
There are better forums than DCUM for this...
Get clones. Be careful about light pollution during the budding stage. |
| I just grew it from seed in my garden |
What are the forums for DMV home growers? |
DP. Don’t know. Probably pick up a copy of High Times and flip through the back or check their online stuff. |
|
I got some seedlings when growing was first legalized in DC and they all died. Then we got lamps, special soil, more seedlings, seeds, and some personal advice from a grower. Everything died again.
Cheaper to buy in my experience, but good luck. |

There are tons of forums on the internet dedicated to this, but not a topic here. Doesn't matter if it is DMV or Humboldt, same concepts.
Back when i first experimented, Ed Rosenthal wrote the bible on growing. Now that it's mainstream, tons of info out there. Yes buy clones, or seeds from the internet from Europe. It can be a fun and rewarding hobby if you are looking for one, but yes so much good flower available for sale i'd only recommend for a passion project. |

this year will be doing a single crop with feminized seeds purchased from -> https://dcseedexchange.com/ germinated in moist paper towels planted in plastic 7 gallon pots. have to be hidden from anyone outside property. and labeled with your name and id and phone number. watered and fertilized. grows like a weed first crop was auto-flower, so flowers after 8 weeks, too early and was a mistake second crop was feminized and budded after light is less than 12 hours a night, like 9/21 or so, and harvested about first week nov |

Read the book “Marijuana Horticulture” by Jorge Cervantes. It is essentially a Master’s level book in growing. Soil chemistry, light manipulation, cloning, strains, grow mediums, hydroponics, ventilation, atmospheric gas supplementation, pests, diseases, sanitation, processing buds, et al. It covers literally everything, exhaustively. If you read this book cover to cover, you will know more about growing weed than 99.9% of anyone you will ever meet who grows weed.
Pro Tip - only rank amateurs grow outside. Outdoor weed is ditch weed and usually filled with seeds. All the really good stuff is 100% indoor grown under almost-laboratory conditions. |
