4 pregnancy tests

I have a wonderful toddler as the result of fertility treatment. I am still breastfeeding (barely though, he's almost weaned), and I never had regular periods. Occasionally I take HPTs for peace of mind, but never thought it would come up positive. Well, yesterday 4 of them said I am pregnant. I have been convinced I could never get pregnant without an RE.

Could the tests be wrong? Obviously I am going to the doc on Monday. Just wondering if anyone out there had a similar experience and how it turned out.

Congratulations!

Knew a couple that thought the could never get pregnant without assistance. Their 18 mos old twins were joined by a second set of twins, "homemade" 9 mos after the first birth. Then, he had a vasectomy.

I have two year old twins (IVF/ICSI) and when they were 11 months old and still being b/fed - I discovered I was pregnant. That resulted in a miscarriage. We thought it was just luck (or rather bad luck in the end) but 6 months later - hey presto, it happened again and now I am 36 wks along with a singleton. It seems my dh's male factor infertility has been "cured" ... I can't believe after all this, we will actually be using contraception after this pregnancy!! It happens a lot. We have a similar story. RE told us we could never get pregnant without IVF/ICSI, which we didn't do. Fast forward several years later, having happily adopted, and it turns out I'm pregnant. Biggest shock of our lives. Apparently my DH's male factor infertility had also been cured Actually, the urologist DH saw said that he didn't think anything was wrong with him and that give it a year and we'd be pregnant. I think it was the RE's way of trying to pressure us to do ART.

I have friends who were told they would not be able to have a child naturally - so they adopted. And the same day they took their new baby home found out they were pregnant. The dr said it was a miracle - and it could not happen again. They now have 3 children. 1 adopted 2 biological. Surprise!

I was told by two doctors I could never get preg. Did. Took 3 tests and couldn't belive it: really was. Happens.

OP here! Thanks everyone. I just got back from the OB, and he confirmed it. I am still in shock but excited!

PP, same thing happened to me. DC#1 (IVF) was 10 months old and mostly weaned himself. One night of well timed sex and #2 was on the way. Never thought it would happen. Call your RE, they'll probably let you come in for all the early betas and ultrasounds that you'd get for ART baby -- which will give you a lot of piece of mind. The regular OB will only give you one blood test (i.e you won't know how much the # is rising) and will make you wait for an ultrasound.
