Infertility Support and Discussion
Anyone doing natural cycle IVF, I'm on day 6 and wondering if everything is normal, need some guidance.
I will be starting natural cycle IVF at the end of the month. What have you done so far? Just baseline monitoring?
Op I'm in my 2ww post my second nc IVF, we triggered on day 9, how big was your follie at 6-7 days?
OP here, just got the call from RE nurse and she said to do the HGC shot tonight, I guess it's show time in 2 days, my follicle measured 17mm and my estragen was 243 so they say I'm ready by Wed.

Good luck you all!!!!
If you don't mind sharing, how much does Natural Cycle IVF cost? I'm assuming it's less than regular IVF b/c there's less meds, right? (Any meds other than the trigger shot?) |
It's $4400 at Dominion if you pay cash. And they charge a regular IVF price if you go through insurance.
Is it normal to have cramping after retrieval?? I felt great when I left the office, but now I feel nauseous, bloated and crampy like an upset stomach. I guess I won't be getting any work done today.
they charge for a regular cycle if you have insurance?! that's a rip-off. |
When we considered NC our insurance did not differentiate between stimulated or non stimulated so we opted to do stimulated so we would have frozen embies to transfer later. Insurance coverage is definitely a factor for many patients and it influenced our decision to go the regular way, but having suffered some bad side effects of the meds I would have preferred to go with natural cycle.
When we were looking into options for male factor issues, natural cycle IVF seemed like a good option since we didn't have any insurance coverage and there was nothing wrong with me. It took two tries, but we now have a healthy baby boy!
PP We have insurance coverage for IVF and we are also dealing with male infertility and we don't know which way to go? I don't like the idea of injecting myself with a lot of hormones since I'm relatively young, 33 and so far there has been nothing wrong with me. Regular IVF seems like a better choice cost wise, but if I think of it just from a medical standpoint then natural cycle IVF makes sense. what should I do??
I am in the same situation as a 18:44 poster - have an IVF coverage and decided to do a natural cycle IVF (we have MFI as well) because I don't want to inject myself with too many hormones as part of a regular IVF. But I have a $25,000 cap for fertility treatments through my insurance and $5,000 through my husband's. I'd rather try two natural IVFs than one regular IVF.
