I'm new to BBT and am trying to find a thermometer - can I just buy a regular digital thermometer at CVS? Or is there a special kind?
And you can take your temperature orally, right? And it will still be accurate enough for charting? Finally, do I have to wait for my period to start charting? I'm 13 months post partum ( DD took a long time to conceive and still no period or pregnancy). Thanks. |
| You will need a special BB thermometer. Taking temperatures orally is fine. It's better to start recording at the beginning of your cycle to observe shifts in temperatures. |
| No harm in starting now! And, I'd recommend the "special" bbt thermometer from cvs. Same price as the other one. |
| Both Walgreens and CVS have store brand BBT thermometers. They are usually with the ovulation predictor kits, not the thermometers. You might want to ask the pharmacist. |
The little purple BBT thermometer at CVS is about $10 and works great. I used the same one for years (literally). I also have tried the Walgreens one and it sucks. I've seen on another board that others don't like that one either. I'd say to get the CVS one. |
