What are the best/ most affordable eyeglass places in the Rockville/ Bethesda area for new eyeglasses? I wear daily contacts and don't wear glasses a lot so I'd rather not spend a fortune. My prescription is single vision, but strong enough that I would want to pay extra for high index lenses. I have a small face so I have to be able to try on frames and make sure they fit comfortably so I can't really buy them online. |
Warby parker in crown is pretty good and reasonably priced. |
I went in to Costco and found the frames I liked, then ordered them from an online store.. |
I bought my last two pairs online, at Eye Buy Direct. There are other online places too. They have a nifty camera thing where you can try on each pair virtually. It's cheaper than the places I looked at in Bethesda, but for me money isn't the problem, it's selection - all the locations around me have such poor selections, it's dreadful. |
Costco prices are very reasonable. |
Zenni online |
I like Cotsco's too |
Zenni does this too. You can upload a pic and “try” them on. |
There are so many incrediby inexpensive online options these days, I cannot believe the stores with expensive frames still exist. We've used Zenni, 39.99 glasses, and many others over the past. When me or the kids need new glasses, I do a quick search, and within minutes everyone has many options to choose from. This include my one kid who likes plastic colored frames, the other who likes simple, smaller metal frames, and me, who has gone back and forth over the years. |
plus i went to brick and mortar eyeglass stores to try on frames and get the measurements of the ones I thought fit well. there are 3 numbers written on the arm for sizing |
We had good experience at Pike & Rose shop. |
