Haley changed pronouns a while ago. People magazine was one of the first online sources to explain it. Can someone explain to me why there is now an article about Halsey in People magazine using the pronouns her and she exclusively to describe Halsey? What’s the deal?

| I saw her on SNL a few years ago, and she was so talented, both as the musical guest and the host. She looks like a train-wreck here. I hope she's okay. She's a female, so she and her seem fine to me. |

Huh? She’s in a fashion show…the designer would have styled her like this. After your comment I clicked on the link expecting some Cara-Delevigne-in-socks level stuff, but this is just normal. |
| she/they. Huh. ok. |
| Attention-seeking nonsense. |
+1 |
| I think she originally got mad because the magazine didn't use both she and they interchangeably in the article. |
Absolutely absurd. |
| I like Halsey. |
| So no one can explain it? Did People magazine make a mistake or is Halsey being fickle? |
A celebrity? Fickle? Never! https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/music/demi-lovato-returns-explaining-feeling-feminine-rcna41258 |
That's what I took away from the article as well. I asked my kids about this because I thought that when she/her and they/them are used, it meant that either was acceptable, not that you have to use both. Can anyone clarify? |
I think that is what is typically meant, but Halsey is special. |
| I like her, but I admit my favorite look of hers is when she had long hair - when she sang at the Grammys in that Chainsmokers song. |
